N52N From 2011 328i in my 2006 330i Questions!

If i were to swap an n52n from a 2011 328i, into my 330i, what would i all need to do? Replace the oil pan with mine? or anything else of the matter? Obviously i know the intake manifold if i want the power of my 330i, but what else?

Why?

If you're going to go through the hassle of a swap, why not get something better?

anything other than an N51/N52 would require much more modification, wouldn't be plug and play, and cost a lot of money to do.

OP, you will need to double check the sensors and wiring harnesses on both motors. They should be the mostly the same, but there could be minor differences. if that's the case, you can probably swap the engine harness from your 330 over to the new engine, just to be sure everything matches up to the DME.

aside from the intake manifold, you may need to swap the valve cover also. The N52 in the 328 has the oil separator built into the VC, so it doesn't have the softball thing that's on the 330i/325i intake manifold.

I'd also compare the exhaust manifolds (if you get them). I believe newer cars got nicer exhaust manifolds (primaries have nice rounded bends instead of squished looking bends). Either way, you can keep the manifolds on the newer engine
