Hotel help

Looking for a romantic weekend away this coming weekend; so I know not a lot of notice.

Thinking of bath unless anyone can suggest another option.Looking for 2 nights max budget is £500. Private hot tub would be a bonus, looking for something special.

Any suggestions appreciated*

nice drive down, superb rooms and food. Should be able to get a good late deal this time of year if you give them a bell.

Mcdonald Hotel or Lucknam Park Hotel - stayed in both, both very nice places to spend a weekend.

Mcdonald is walking distance into the city, Lucknam is further out but its only about 5/6miles.

in bath is the bath priory hotel, great rooms but since I stayed it has swapped hands and now owned by the same people who run gidleigh park. It can only be better now.

Hiltons are a bit chainy, i.e. posh travelodge.

If you want somewhere special it has to be a independant or small group.

Somewhere like that Gidleigh place is just the ticket.

good search site here http://www.mrandmrssmith.com/destina...united-kingdom

the mcdonald place has its own pool (indoor and heated spa outside) and a thermal suite, which is effectively 5 or 6 different types of room - sauna, ice shower, steam room, and some others I cant remember.

as yoro says though, dont go to the over hyped therma spa in the town itself.

PR11PN in the add special rate > promotion/offer code section of the hilton website should bring it down. It's a public sector discount but they never check.

Hilton in Bath isn't a very attractive place and there's much better places for your money.

Have a look at the Royal Crescent Hotel... It's expensive, but a darn site better than the Hilton and has its own private spa in the garden.

Otherwise, the Bath Priory is a great shout too...

Yoro said about the Thermae Bath Spa... It's good, but can get crowded at weekends... however is very relaxing...
