Another PBX Happy Customer #2 !!

I had some free time today so I decided to install the PBX which I got from MIke @ N54 Tuning. I followed his installation instructions which are pretty clear and easy to follow. The one thing which wasn't too clear in the PDF instructions were how to let the ECU "sleep" before you start. But I pm'ed Mike about it and he responded almost immediately so he was great help. For those who have an alarm, make sure you don't turn it on, all you need to do is roll the windows down, reach in and lock the doors, then let the car sit for 10 minutes. The total install time was approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes from start to finish. I am not a mechanic but I've worked on cars before so it was relatively easy to do. The ECU also isn't in such a tight space like my old cars so that was a plus.

After install, I made sure to start and rev the car before putting everything back together like Mike had suggested. There were no error codes and the car seemed fine so I put everything back together and took it for a spin. Now I usually dont rely on butt dyno's but this PBX truly makes your car drive totally different. I can't say for sure if it brought more power, but I can certainly vouch that it's improved throttle response 100%. I use to feel that when I hit the gas, the car felt very heavy. BUt after installing this, that feeling was eliminated. I think the PBX is still in the learning stages of my driving style though because it would downshift a lot on the highway when I hit the gas. Hopefully that gradually goes away as it learns the car because that would waste a lot of gas in the long run.

Gas mileage wise didn't really change. I'm still getting about 21mpg. I would definately recommend this to anyone and so far its a $300 well spent for me. I'll be updating my review on this after 2 more days of driving with it and hopefully by that time the PBX has adapted to my car and my driving style.
