You won't be disappointed with the BC's and PE mate. Regarding the valve, I actually have it on as I find it too loud when off.

I will hound you down if the BC's are shit, as you're the main reason why I got them haha :P nah in all seriousness a few mates have them and are very happy with them BFYB you cant beat them, but ultimately there are better solutions albeit at a higher price!

Is it louder only on cold starts with the valve off, or in general also?

The BC's aren't bad, I've got them on my car, although they are no where as comfortable as the stock suspension, even on the softest setting

Well the stock suspension does ride well i will give it that, in fact thats what surprised me initially its not as crashy as i thought it would be in comparison to some other euros i have driven. But yeah it doesn't provide much feedback through the tiller, or isn't as responsive as me previous car. I suspected the BC's will be a lot crashier over bumps with the pillowball mounts...

Did you find it improved handling a lot though?

Are you going to the dyno day next month?

To be honest, no not really... but that's just me because I don't go hard on corners and haven't hit the windy roads yet. And yea, the car definitely feels bumpier and those pillow ball mounts does NOT absorb the impact from hitting pot holes.. went over one today and damn the vibration went all the through to my spine. LOL

Probably not, but I am going to drop my car off at Advan to get it serviced and also to get my m3 control arms installed

Haha some guys mistake pillowball mounts as a cushion like effect to soften the ride, its actually quite the contrary they are solid mounts (the oem items are rubber to help absorb impacts, but they flex which is somewhat detrimental to a responsive handling setup)

Ahh so you're more of a latte sipping type of bmw owner hey Jeff :P TBH my car rarely gets driven hard though!

I need to organise another putty rd run, the twisties near the newcastle end are billiard table smooth, extremely tight and windy, and its fantastic listening to the turbos spooling and cracking gate echoing off the mountain walls!

It's a pretty big difference man...When you take a corner you should notice more accurate turn in, less body roll, and alot less 'floaty'.

Hmm, maybe it's because I am putting too much load on the springs and not on the shock. I installed the coilovers myself and I didn't know the relative height adjustments since you can alternative both individually.

Haha ok maybe it's because my expectation of the coils far exceeded the actual experience, because I had BCs on my lexus is200 and the change was far more significant compared the 335i

Engine on (you get the tacho limiter which moves as the engine warms up):

S3XAY!!! M3 cluster is a beaut!

Must check it out @ dyno day!

BTW, does the redline end at 335i redline and not M3 redline when warmed up?

Mate I didn't want to spread misinformation and wanted to answer this until I had it installed. There is a lot of misinformation out there stating that the tacho wont work as the v8 has different pulsation, if your car has less kms then the cluster it wont read correctly, and others stated that you have to have a new cluster a used unit wont work.

I was thinking logically that all of this data is received and transmitted via the dme, so shouldn't the cluster just be displaying the information it receives...

Well I bought a used cluster from a 08 m3 with 85000 kms and it was pnp with no coding and the tacho works fine, the oil temp fuel gauge all work fine and most importantly the kms read as per normal.

One thing is you do lose all your servicing schedule requirements (As thats one thing which is programmed via the cluster)

The only issue I have is it has a cruise control error popping up on startup (displays on idrive also) perhaps this can be coded out?

I took it for a drive today to get fuel & it seems to be for the m3 redline??:

*Update: Actually I think the gauge is for the 335i redline, after looking at the m3 gauge in action the amber marker sits at 8k rpm:

Having said that when the needle hits the 1st marker at 7k rpm its time to upshift, so much of a muchness really
