Please help with MS-8 L7 settings
I really need help with MS-8 settings. My system consist of the Logic 7, 13 speakers (stock) along with VP sub enclosure 12 Jl powered by the XD 600/1, Rockfor Fosgate PBR 300 X 4 for the underseats and the MS-8.
If someone can please point me in the right direction with base line settings, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks I did a search and found the following settings, but not sure if I'm in the ballpark. Calibration volume -45dB - Front low/hi at 150Hz at -6db - Center at 160Hz at -24dB - Rear at 150hz at -24dB - Sub at 80Hz at -18db with subsonic at 20Hz at -24dB - MS-8 volume after sweeps -10dB |

Set the crossover at 150hz 24db for all 4" OEM speakers. Set the trunk sub at 80hz, 12dB. If you can, engage the underseat amp's low pass filter and set to 180hz. Now level match the underseats to the MS-8 driven channels. Set the sub gain to minimum. Extend the speaker cable to the sub and put it in the back seat. Calibrate at -35dB volume. After calibration set ms-8 volume to -6db. Put the sub back in the trunk.

Thanks. I don't know what my Installer had it set at, but it sounded really bad, and he wasn't happy with it either. I could hear the center channel over just about everything except the sub, it had no highs or underseat midbass, it also would start clipping at high volume. I guess all the calibrations I pulled off the MS-8 thread were wrong for my set up.
Thanks again. |
