DSC, DBC, FTM, Start-Off Malfunction all at once?!?!

I was driving around town and all of a sudden all 4 malfunction warnings popped up at the same time! WTH?!?! Except after I parked the car I turned off the engine, then started it again then they all disappeared.

From the other post I found on the forum I believe it has something to do with the "steering column sensor"? Has anyone else had all 4 of these pop up at the same time?

I have only had DSC ,DBC, ABS, TPMS malfunction all at the same time once... but that was because I was doing crazy donuts in a snow covered lot.. so I guess that didnt really count.

i posted about this same thing like 2 days ago. in my case it went away after a couple of hours and hasn't been back. occurred b/c i disconnected the battery. i too thought that my steering sensor was junked but apparently those errors all at once is common when the cpu gets confused. if i were you, i wouldn't bother worrying about it unless it sticks around for a while

although, i replaced the battery few months ago cuz its was dead, but the car was reprogrammed to get the new battery to work.

I had this issue last year. Took the dealer many visits to figure it out. It was a bad rear wheel bearing that triggered an error in the wheel speed sensor thus causing all of the above mentioned systems to fail given that are interdependent. Basically I would not have a problem until sustained speeds over 80mph. The alarms would go off, i would pull over turn the car off and go on my merry way until I exceeded the speed again. The dealer ended up sending info to BMW for analysis because no regular error codes were present. They ended up changing the drivers side rear bearing assembly and wheel speed sensor. Apparently fairly common issue in 2006 and 2007 cars.

Best of luck, hope you have some warranty left because the job was about 900 bucks

got this about 4 weeks ago. mine was the traction control module located on the steering column. You'll know this is the cause if you use your turn signal and it doesn't turn off after a turn. Dealer fixed it + 5 hours of reprogramming the car.

I got that too in Oct. '09. I really, really just let it go as a fluke, until it happened again a couple weeks later. It was the beginning of a 6 mo. journey with the dealership. Major failures were to come until finally in 4/10 they fixed it. The 335 deserves what it gets from CR--I've never heard of another situation where one simply ignores multiple warnings and codes in the DME like you do with a BMW.

When that happened to mine, it was the steering wheel sensor.

Same thing just happend to me. It popped on for 5 then went off. Then I came on the next day. Now it turned off this morning. How much did the job cost. And how often does the light gonna come back. When I turn the blinker doesn’t turn off as well when it’s happening.
