Engine oil help?
Hi, just looking for a bit of help for my neighbour. He has an e90 2006 320d. My e91 320d needs a service and this came up in conversation. He told me he just carried out an oil service on his car using an oem filter but he used ASDA's own brand engine oil 5w 40 fully synthetic. I told him that it may not be suitable but thought id ask on here to make sure, its not longlife but does meet requirements.
http://direct.asda.com/ASDA-5W40-Ful...efault,pd.html ^^ this is the oil. Seems very cheap, will it just need changing sooner or is it damaging to his engine? |

Your link leads to a "Product discontinued" page but I sure as hell wouldn't put an Asda branded oil in my motor!
Probably will be OK but won't have the CBS ability (long life) that an LL04 oil has. |
