They should have complied with the cop. I think the cop should have slammed them on the ground to be handcuffed. In no way they should have touched the cop.

The punch was a little unnecessary, but he should have had it under control before that even happened. He struggled with her like a 10 year old brother-sister fight. If she resisted, no matter for how stupid a reason, he should have had her secured in a few seconds. Dude needs to hit the gym and practice some of his restraint techniques. Feel like he should have been able to deck that chick with a blow to the face too.

The officer was clear in asking her to step back, hell he even pushed her back once while she tried to grab him! Then she approaches him again in an even more aggresive manner? The cops have a dangerous job and these "ladies" didn't make it easier for this officer. It was also stated that he was talking to another person about jaywalking in that area about how dangerous it was. He was probably going to do the same with these "ladies". It wasn't a big deal until the 2 girls made it into a big deal. If this officer needs a defense fund I'll be more than glad to contribute. This in no way was a racially motivated incident, but now we'll have every Al Sharpton crying about how outraged they are. What about the way the girls were treating the cop?

What's more disturbing to me is that the spineless mayor McGinn is not even defending his police force....along with that chicken interum police chief. It looks like they're afraid of the naacp, aclu in that it's minority liberal votes McGinn might lose. This incidence aside...McGinn is a horrible mayor. not very bright

i dont think its harsh, she was resisting arrest, what if she or her "cousin" intended to grab his weapon or something, cop did the right thing to detain her as quickly as possible.
