I forgot about this pic. When we had snow i woke up at about 5am with this on my bonnet. I am convinced it isnt heat from the engine. as the car wasnt run for 2 days.

The lines are symetrical so WTF? im thinking crop circles etc

Look under your bonnet and under the heat proof material, you will find a similar pattern, even when it is cold due to sensity of the materials. Mine does this when it is damp and covered in dew.

I'd put money it its down to structure of the bonnet and other parts such as vents, etc under the bonnet.

Also, where do you park, could've been down to less cold air curculating under the car allowing certain areas to melt while others do not.
