Dear Friends,

I drive an E93 335i,

Need some help selecting discs - I have some yellow stuff pads but also need discs.

I don't want a BBK but a step up from standard could be nice ?? Any pointers to something grooved / drilled ? Heard some horror stories hence why I'm reaching out.

Or should I just go OEM and be done with it ?

OEM Z4 35is. Direct replacement two piece with aluminum hat.

We've had good experiences using stoptech rotors as well, they're well made and are affordable. Feel free to PM me for a quote!

Stoptech rotors are affordable and looks great. In terms of performance they're basically the same as oem blanks.

Slotted, drilled, or slotted and drilled will, not make a difference on a DD and is for looks only. Some argue that it will perform a bit better in rain but again, as the driver you probably cant tell the difference. Slotted rotors will actually make your pads last a little bit shorter because it is constantly scrapping and removing the friction material which again, is not needed in a DD car. The feel is pretty much depended on what pads you use and what fluid.

For affordability, R1 concepts makes good rotors at a decent price. I'm actually in the market seeing as mine are toast at 70k miles. R1 concepts or zimmermans are on my list. Not trying to spend big money on brakes seeing as I was very happy with SS lines, motul 600 and hawk hps pads. Not tracking so I'm not dumping excessive money for aesthetics or track worthy braking when decent tires will stop you faster.

I'll likely go with the Stoptech slotted rotors/pads come March when some brake work will be needed. I had my rear rotors replaced about 16mo/20k miles ago as well as pads and they glazed over and made an obnoxious squeaking noise.

Slotted rotors to my understanding greatly help reduce the likelihood of glazing. Also they are much less expensive than OEM and are solid quality.
