What do you think about swapping xpipe with center muffler?
No, you need to put in resonators if you're talking about getting rid of or reducing the rasp. Secondary cats don't do anything about that, which is why some people replace them with the resonators.

I don't see how a muffler is going to fit where the x-pipe is.
Center muffler, the factory center resonator designed to fit there isn't it

Added 1792 to stock PE exhaust and it worked great. There's no difference if I used 1792 instead of 1790 right?

1792 is for aftermarket 2.5 piping

1790 is for OEM piping 2.25

I added 1792.. Do you think it'll reduce any performance? Or just quiets down the sound a little more.

I added 1790s shortly after going catless dp ... sounds much cleaner and better on my bmw pe (E90 N55 x drive). I do miss the pop and gurgles

Is there any negative impact on getting rid of the h pipe ? Told the shop i want to keep my secondary cats so they told me the only way to put these on was to delete the H pipe and then mount it after the secondary cats. Has anyone else done this?

I believe you mean x-pipe -- it should be louder overall and more free-flowing without it. That could be a negative or positive depending on what you ultimately want, at least sound-wise. If (more) pops and gurgles is what you're really after, you would have been better off swapping the mid-cats with the resonators. I have more pops and gurgles than ever after doing so.

I believe the coupes have the x pipe and the sedans have the H pipe. Not too sure what the exact diff between the two as apart from the design.

JasW where did you end up installing the resonators ?( I know you wanted to keep the secondary cats as well). Did you had to delete the H/X pipe?

Here is how my setup sounds like :

I miss the pop and gurgles, so i am contemplating if i should put resonators in place of secondary cats and put back the h pipe. Any suggestions? Only thing that keeping me from doing this is the awful smell after removing the secondary cats.

You should've replaced the secondary cats with the vibrant resonators. I did that with PE mufflers and the popping sound is loud. No rasp. Welded an x pipe in replace of the resonators because E90s comes with a stock resonator.

Yes stock is 1790 which is 2.25 OD and the aftermarket exhaust usually is 2.50 in the midpipes which uses 1792

Got mine installed! 1790! I am fully catless with the stock IS exhaust! Sounds cleaner overall and nice defined pops! Love it!

Nothing confusing! It tunes the exhaust to not sound raspy and drone...If you like that sound after going completely catless then its not for you. IF you want a tone down sound of an exhaust then its for you

#1790 for 2.25 OD (Stock)

#1792 for aftermarket with 2.50 OD

Got my custom exhaust installed today and cried all the way home! Outside of the car sounds pretty good. Inside the cabin driving sounds loud and almost vibrates. I take it this what you call drone. So bummed after waiting a week for this. I hear Vibrant resonators will do the trick?? Please help with a fix. I'm hating life right now!!

Nah, vibrators help with rasp, not drone. Sounds like your exhaust may be hitting the heat shield, or have a leak. What is your exhaust setup?

My tech said I either need "J" pipes (likely) or maybe resonators (less likely) to eliminate the annoying type noise I feel and hear. The mid pipes are probably the cause but what the hell do I know. I'll have him look at it once I get my tune done on Saturday. Fingers crossed....
