BMW "free" maintenance changes, in Miami, or more?

I posted this on the regular board, but I still wonder if this is my dealer or more wisespread. I had my 2008 e92 328 6mt in to Braman Miami for a broken light 2 days ago. 44,680 k miles and I have been diligent about getting the previous two 15k mile oil changes. I inquired about getting my oil changed. I was told by previous SA at Braman that they do oil changes at 15k and will give leeway to 500 miles less. My car currently fits that criteria. The new SA (my former was "no longer there") told me the car says it doesn't need it yet. The 15k in the BMW manual is apparently no longer honored. My oil level was toward the minimum side on the oil gage. I then inquired, but he refused to top it off, "[unless the car said to.]" I was also told "it's not unusual for cars to burn oil." I added a full quart of royal purple 5w30 on my own and it is close to but just below max now. It rides a lot better as a result. There were about 1/2 the number of service reps that were there 1 year ago. Brahman, Miami, is a large dealership. My light was replaced quickly, on the bright side, excuse the pun...

Shockingly inconsistent. Very poor business decision. What have I done, but pay and borrow some 43k, more than comparable cars in the class, to deserve this kind of inconsistency?

It kind of goes with BMW's decision to do a 328 rather than 330 model in the US, not actually correcting the hprp issue in 335's, and giving RFT's without an option to opt out of enjoying a spine banging ride... The RFT's, and ridiculous prices to extend a lease (3 times literally per month in a 528), put my parents (in S. FL) into a 2010 Merc E class, leaving with annoyance with BMW.

When you give free maintenance, its stupid to change policies alogng the way, even in a recession... Why didn't Braman spend the freaking $5 (or less for them) to give me a quart of oil? Disgusting....

i understand your point of the 15k intervals, but thats for your reference as an owner. They change the oil according to when the car tells them to. It sucks, but i kind of understand their point. thye cant just change the oil in whoevers car they want, in order for them to be reimbursed by BMWNA it needs to meet certain criteria.

everything else is spot on though.

btw, i always take my car to Braman, never had a problem to date.
