Recommend me a North West Spa break...

Been a bit of a mad year so want to treat the missus to a weekend away locally (ish) to a nice hotel with a Spa treatment for her.
Where have you been and would/would'nt recommend?

Have been Carden Park, nice but overpriced imo but still in the running.
Formby Hall looks nice but never been.

Where else people? Anywhere obvious I'm missing?

try that secret escapes website, they seem to have decent priced breaks on there when I get their emails

The Lakeside Hotel on Lake Windemere is amazing but might be too far?? I know the main chap who runs it so might be able to sort a deal. Not the cheapest - but worth it
