Warranty on TurboChargers
Any idea if this is something that may come to Canada?

Looks like it only applies to the US 50 states. This is such BS it should be for all of NA. Is there any type of lawsuit for this in canada going on or is everyone just keeping their mouth shut as usual? this turbo wastegate rattle is driving me insane.

We are typical Canadians, just take what people say and live with it

The HPFP warranty was extended in the US before it was in Canada, but we did get it (not the recall, the extended warranty). It would be great if this happened with the turbo's as well. I'm not sure if the HPFP was a result of any kind of advocacy?

I believe more people had a defective HPFP, than turbos

I would be interested in hearing more getting this in Canada as well. I had my waste-gates done under warranty this past winter and I confirmed there is no "extra warranty" on the turbos once my warranty runs out. Only the HPFP.

I just called service at town & country on Kennedy/highway 7 and I was basically called an "idiot" when I mentioned there was a lawsuit and asked if it applied to us....
Guy simply told me no we've never heard of this and a service "bulletin" is just too mechanics talking to each other?....wtf is that seriously. We Canadians are way too hush hush about shit...we need to make this a big deal and get this extended warranty out this way. Anyone know the contact info. for BMWNA, I'd like to call them direct about this. |

Yep, they did the recall but did not extend the warranty at first as they did in the US. Later on, they gave us the extended warranty as well. I can't recall what the terms of it are but we got it.

Couldn't we just drop our car off at a dealership across the border for the warranty work? Like Buffalo for example?

Tried calling today and they are closed until Monday. I am going to give them a shout when they open Monday morning because its absolutely ridiculous if they won't cover us up in Canada.
On a side note, if they won't extend the warranty in Canada, if we drove across the border to say Buffalo to get the warranty done, they have to cover that correct? |

I think it depends on place of purchase for the warranty to count. Just another loop hole for them if anything.
I'm gonna call them too on Monday because my WG's/actuator rods are ceased and that's bs. Time to flip just like the Americans! |

My got my car from South Carolina and just imported it. I am gonna call Monday and complain about it and try and get it fixed up here but if they give me a hard time, I'll drive to Buffalo and get it fixed. |

Hey guys, despite its name, I'm pretty sure BMWNA is corporate ONLY for BMW in the United States, and they have nothing to do with Canada.
If you want to complain about your Canadian car, you have to call BMW Canada, which is a separate entity. 1-800-567-2691 |

Ok so here is an update... Called BMWNA this morning to ask if they would honor the extended coverage in Canada and they very quickly told me I had to call BMW Canada (which I knew would happen so its no surprise).
So I then proceeded to call BMW Canada where they answered and I managed to get the most ignorant woman. I started very nicely asking her about the extended warranty that BMWNA had extended for our 335's and would that also be covered in Canada. She cut me off halfway through speaking and barked how the only was it would be covered or replaced was if I received a letter from BMW stating they would honor the warrenty for my wastegates because each 'recall is specific to each VIN'. Which is complete bullshit because BMWNA offered a blanket extended warranty for any 335 made in 2007 or newer. I went on to explain it was a little rediculous because other than the instrument cluster and DRL the Canadian and US cars were identical and it should be covered as well in Canada. She then rudely went on how I wasn't listening to what she was saying which is where I started to get a little upset. I pressed her a little more, did not swear or yell at any time but I did press her for an answer and she actually hung up on me. Great way to keep customers. |

Your best bet us to try again tomorrow and chances are you may speak to someone else on the phone.
For her to hang up on you is totally unacceptable. |
