We haven't even started the tuning portion of the job. Just the CAN data acquisition process. As mentioned earlier, once the data is acquired, porting v4 over to the new DME is reasonably easy.

Shiv would you start tuning more on the N55 platform and be porting over to the N54 or you just porting existing features out now for the N54?

Ok Vishnu... So I'm picking up my X5 35i on thursday... Where's the harness?

So much for my dream of hooking the PROcede up at the dealership...

Any ETA on the Firmware update and Harness? Any price point on the Harness, will I be able to trade in my old N54 Harness for the new one?

I know, a lot of questions...

drove a 6mt n55 135i last night... feels really strong for a stock car. I'm gonna convince him to pickup the procede.

Is the N55 gonna be able to handle the same amount of boost as the N54? Also is the 7speed DCT gonna be able to handle the same load as the 6speed Auto ??

We expect good things with the 7DCT. As for maximum realistic boost on the n55, it's still a bit too early to tell.

We are still working on the n55. It would have been done by now if Shiv had taken a break from n54 development. The guy never sleeps.

No official ETA just yet.

Aren't the N55's running a little more boost than the N54's? (stock)

Correct me if I'm wrong, which i've been known to be but..

N54's run about 8.5 psi boost
N55's run about 10 psi boost

Based of the stock levels of boost, the N55's are handling more boost at stock levels already. They may not be able to handle the N54 level's of tuned boost, but they might come close, with enough work..

Based off your line of questions on tranny's, is the new 8-speed going to be able to handle the increased boost as well (tuned)?

Good questions. I don't see a tuner putting out more than 15 psi this year. Shiv what limit have you targeted with the Procede?

I don't think Shiv has "targetting" any specific boost pressure just yet. At this point, he's just making sure that all the necessary i/o is fully functional in the n55 tune. I know he's started raising boost but I don't think he's close to being done (in relative terms at least). Once complete, we'll be sure to update the forum with details.

The n55 tune, from what I gather, will be functionally identical to the n54 tune right out of the gate. So basically going from stock tune to a fully functional tune with full diagnostic capabilities, autotuning, in-dash displays, etc,. That's great but it also means a lot of testing is in order before it can be released.

Very cool. Really nice to have a mature proven tune on another platform right off the bat for the N55. Congrats future N55 Procede users.

When we open up the test pool to non-locals, we'll be sure to let you know. But truthfully, I think all testing will be sorted out in-house before it is released. The nice thing about having a fully integrated CAN based tune is that there is little doubt on how the tune works since all of the guess work is removed from the equation.

I'll test or buy.
Would have been fun to have this past week. Did a 4500 mile road trip up in the mountains, desert, west coast, and back down to Texas..
