2011 CIC System problem
Hello Guys!
Im pretty much new in everything car related. Got my drivers licence 2 months ago and got my first car about a month ago aswell. Since i worked pretty hard for past couple of months i could afford myself 2011 318D. So now i have a problem with connecting my phone (Bluetooth),usb or phone trough AUX to the car. None of the above listed works. So i searched for a bit and i figured my Bluetooth module went bust. But today i was playing with system a bit more and found out that system doesnt show current version of the software aswell (it just says: Supported devices are: [blank]). And after watching couple of YT videos i found out that when u go into Phone menu you should have ''Add new phone'' on the list but i dont have it. So now im stuck and dont know what really could be wrong. Since everything else works. I will go to BMW service next week and try to ask them to take a look at it. But i figured u guys might have any idea on what could have been wrong. Is this stuff like optional and i dont have it? ( I do have navigation ) Thanks for any help |

Hi,
It might be that you don't have the phone options. This can be easily checked by going to: https://www.parts.bmwgroup.com/tetis...OMAIN=Internet and login using: username: eu111111 password: bmwetk1 Next you'll see a button 'parts and accesories' on the left, click that. Then click start under 'webepc'. On the next screen (popup) enter the last 7 characters of your vin and your option list will show up. If you in fact have bluetooth, it should show up there. |

Hello!
So i checked as you recommended and it shows: 84 Communication systems 10 Car telephone, built-in 20 Mobile telephone 30 HANDS FREE TELEPHONE 95 Accessories and retrofit I entered ''bluetooth'' into search and it found 1 hit: Bluetooth antenna. Is this it? |

Tried updating software and i cant do it because it doesnt detect usb in the glove compartment. I did format USB into FAT32.
And thats the main reason this pisses me off. Ok i dont have bluetooth option or it doesnt work. No problem. But other options of software dont work either which IMO shouldnt be a problem if BT Module wouldnt work. |

Yes we already did connect it trough cable and checked for errors. I was told it was nothing major reported and that only error was for rear ride height. Which i already ordered and will be replaced on monday.

Ok so after some time i finally had a chance to visit BMW service today. They checked and told me that combox is faulty. Now they qouted me for around 500€ to change it.
But i found several of them between 100 and 200€. Now im pretty sure this isnt just plug and play. (its never that simple) So can i do it and what do i need to do? part num: 84 10 9 257 161 |
