Same issue many winters ago in a -10 degrees in Chicago. I tried to start the beast and wouldn't even start. I was late for a dinner and tried started my sisters E46 wouldn't start. I tried started my dads E53 wouldn't start. I was freaking pissed off. I called BMW and hes like they are backed up for hours and hes like keep starting it trust me after like 10 tries it should start up. He said if you have a external jumper use it and it will fire up.
It started up finally and I let it idle for like 10 minutes and went on. Next morning all the cars started the temperatures went up to like 15 degrees. I used an external jumper for mine I didn't trust cranking it. I let it hooked up for a minute and after the second try it worked. |

-30 you have 25% of your CCA so does that surprise you it will not start?
Battery Tender and as mentioned engine oil pan heater works well and your car will start even down to -40. Go to NAPA or any good auto parts store and get the oil pan heater. It looks like a 4" x 8" metal flat sheet or orange rubberish material with some 3M sticky to stick to the pan. Cord is not long but you will be using an extension cord for the tender anyway. This is something you only need to do when it gets below 10 degrees otherwise it should start... Here you go https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...58.-TT2GKYqwDc |

Used my highlander to jump start my car. After 20 minutes and trying to start my car 6-7 times. She finally started up.
If anyone wants to move to Canada. here's some advice, don't. |
