can't believe it took 22 posts.
i just ordered this: http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E92-335...Noc/ES1905437/ and will try to wrap the parts in it. i may even try to wrap the interior door trim that runs from the front to the back of the car if i'm brave enough |

So are you saying the OP's first picture where your hand goes to shut the door just just pulls straight up and out? How did you do that?

I just did this and have my old one in the garage. I am going to try and paint or wrap it and stick it in the closet for when my new one wears out too. There were just clips that poped straight up on my armrest. I have a 2008 coupe. I will snap a picture and post it. |

Ok so you replaced the whole armrest and not just that black piece where your hand goes it how I understand what you're saying. Last I remember that black piece is secured to the armrest without clips or fasteners. It looked to me like the piece had some male features that passed through the armrest and then melted down flat to hold it to the armrest. So it would seem to not be a replaceable part and you would need to buy the whole armrest.

I got the pics.. I just need to slap them on a host.. or on my webserver at home. I will get them up in a bit and you can see. It was a quick easy swap of the old and new part. I could do it in less than 10 minutes next time. |

Same with mine. BMW will probably make a killing if they sell a paint refresh program.

I wish I could get my door pull handle to stop squeaking when I pull on it! I'm gonna take it out and coat the connections inside with liquid rubber stuff or something.

Got mine replaced under warranty along with the steering wheel trim. Now that its out of warranty I'd probably plasti-dip it or just sand/spray paint next time.

how is plastidip applied? I must investigate! I decided to remove all the rubberized (cheap in my opinion) on my inside door handle driver-side...
however my steering wheel area with same cheap coating is peeling as well... wondering if the plastidip would suffice....

Mine did the same and got the handle and steering wheel trim replaced under warranty.. Not sure if plastidip will hold up on the handle because it's a high-wear area..
