Car Seat Leatherette Cracked...Covered Under Warranty??
well, as the title states, is it covered under warranty? its not big by all means, and its not a puncture or a rip. ill go downstairs now and take a pic...hopefully the dealer will change out the seat

My buddy got Acura to replace his seat because it began to crease prematurely in his RSX-S. If Acura does it, BMW better do it as well.

I had the same problem a few years back. It was like the fabric was to tight and split apart. It was replaced at no charge. |

I swear, i have heard so many folks here say that leatherette are durable? Now you have a tear? so where is the durability that ppl are talking about? Maybe this is just an isolated case.
In any case, I think bmw will cover your seat if you show them that you take good care of your car and it appear that you do not abuse your car. Give them a call and see what they say. gl

txusa, I do not see any cracks on the rest of the seat, and that is because leatherette is durable!

My girlfriends cracked because we used a bunch of product to remove stain for a black suede jacket on her beige seats, I guess the mix of chemicals did this after a few months. On my car, they still look brand new after 4 years.

My leather started creasing all over on the butt part of the driver's seat. I only weigh like 165lbs (slim jim) and the leather square on the butt portion started to crease like crazy after 7 months or so. Would BMW cover something like that under warranty? Or is that just naturally what leather does? It was somewhat unsightly, not really bad, but I'd hate to think of how it'd turn out if I had kept that car another couple years.
