so misfire in cylinder 7! i guess its a bad cylinder coil or plug

The early M3's had a problem with idle control valves and oxygen sensors.

I had changed my idle control valve on my previous M3.

Go read up in it on M3 forums.

yeah i though that was the problem at first! but i scanned the car when i got home and the only code was a misfire in one cylinder which im assuming is a bad coil or plug.

I don't think idle control valve will show as that. If I'm not mistaken it will show like a misfire similar to what you're saying.

I could be wrong as it was a while since I had changed my idle control valve and the error code.

How much mileage does your car have? When is the last time you had your plugs replaced?

I had quite a few "engine malfunctions" last year at around 75000km, with misfires a fault codes. New plugs solved the problem in my case

it has 42k and i changed plugs at 40k. ill have the plug and the coil changed tomorrow and hopefully that solves the problem.

Yep you are correct. I reviewed Chris's onboard video and I make no sound out the pits because, well, I see no reason to floor it since it's the warmup lap.
