Why You Need An Active Autowerke ChargePipe. (Pictures Inside)

Hi guys,

I have seen plenty of blown charge pipes in my time at Active including two of my own but this case was a little special so I decided to reiterate how dangerous these OEM Pipes can be.

My customer called me a few days ago complaining about the car not making any boost and a check engine light on the dash. Unfortunately he was not able to make it into the shop for 3 days due to work and continued to drive the vehicle.

Upon Arrival I immediately opened the hood and found the charge pipe broken and hanging off the throttle body which was no surprise. However while I was showing the customer what potentially could of happened if the plastic went into the throttle body I found the rubber o-ring stuck on the throttle valve which I easily pulled out with my fingers. This was a real shock to the customer to find out his stock engine could of been destroyed if this o-ring became unstuck and how important it is to switch over to our metal one.

The car in these pictures is 100% stock besides a coilover suspension.

You can see the charge Pipe broken in 3 main spots.

O-ring on the right found in the throttle Body

Do not wait till your pipe breaks.. Fix the Issue Now!

Andrew, that chargepipe is very gorgeous.

Nice craftsmanship!

there are a lot of N54's on the road with stock charge pipes. It would be really odd for this to be a common problem, perhaps even a recall would be necessary.

We have seen dozens of n54's break as well. I just swapped one out this week that had a cracked diverter connector. Without a smoke test it would of been impossible to find.
