Cracked Hoses
So I took in my e90 for a scheduled inspection this week, and they gave me the normal "recommended replacements" highlights (all of which isn't covered by my CPO warranty. Some of which I'll get taken care of outside of BMW, but they said I should replace my radiator hoses because they're cracked and will soon leak. I asked how many hoses and how much? They said 14 HOSES AND I'LL COST $1800 - $2000!!
SERIOUSLY! Has anyone had this experience before? Any recommendations? BTW, I have a pre-lci with 73,XXX miles. |

Sounds like the dealer is trying to pull one over on you. Modern hoses go at least 150,000 miles. I have 179,000 on my '06 E90 and my hoses are still in good shape. All you need to do is check them yourself. Squeeze them, if they are cracked, you'll see it. If the hoses are hard or have bulges in them then you consider replacing them.
I've price the hose set up, the parts are under $300 for on-line prices. And I don't think there are 14 hoses total; more like 10 total. This is what I priced up a while back. 11537521049 $18.87 11537545890 $30.20 17127531579 $43.58 17127548225 $107.30 17127565093 $35.22 17127531581 $56.20 |
