Steering Wheel Catching?
Hiya, when turning my steering wheel round corners, it's making a strange noise. I'm not sure if it's catching on something, or it need greasing???
I don't quite know how to explain the noise. It doesn't sound as though it's catching, more of a whiney horn type sound, as though it's sticking (even though the steering wheel moves freely). It's only started to do it over the last 2 weeks Anyone else had this before, if so, how'd you sort it out? |

yep same here
took it in under warranty, but has only lasted a few months, more noticable at low speeds and easy to demonstrate to the tech, noise back again so it will go back |

And how long does the warranty last? As mine is from November 2010, whereas I bought it in December 2011. |

My 2011 320d was doing this - noticed it more at low speeds, the tech told me it's a grease free sleeve where the column goes through the firewall. He greased it and the sound has gone now.
3 year warranty from new on BM's |
