so you just want to add the shifter without any lights etc? sure that'll work but you'll lose the DS function in the process. if you want to keep the DS you'd need to bride pins 4 and 6 in the blue 6pin plug. it won't look too great because generally a new boot is made which attached to the shifter to make it look nice.

Why wouldn't ds work? DS is by moving the entire knob it's not electronic? Why is a new boot needed? I'm waiting for my manual boot to come in.

you are partially correct. moving the knob over closes an electrical contact enabling DS. it's not just a mechanical operation just as shifting up and down is not "mechanical" in nature. the movement itself is but the reason why the transmission shifts is not mechanical but electrical. just disconnect the blue plug under the baseplate and you'll see what i mean.

you'd use the ring from the manual boot but not the leather itself. for this i always make a new one that matches the actual shifter in grain and color. the manual boot leather is too thick to stitch to the shifter. you'll see what i mean when you get the parts.

Thanks for the feedback, schulrog.

The website says the DCT baseplate option isn't available.

Is there a reason for this?

I have my own DCT baseplate, all I need is the shifter with the boot and wiring adapter.

from what i see, the DCT baseplate is shown as available as always.

the DCT baseplate is required to complete the harness for fitment.

Copied and pasted from the link in post #650 of this thread (five posts up):

"Trim - "DCT Baseplate" allows for replacement of your baseplate with a DCT baseplate.* (Currently Not Available)"
