need opinion ASAP... doing spark plugs

Doing my plugs and I notice oil in this lil guy (assuming freeze plug)... this is located under the oil cap and next to plug 2

I pulled plug 1 and it looked like it was running very hot, slight oil on threads. Pulled plug 2 and this is what I see. covered in oil

It was told to me it's more than likely the valve cover gasket from a pretty stand up BMW tech. 1) how hard is it for a beginner DIY, my brother is an expert and could probably do it if I cant. 2) should I stop and not pull the rest of the plugs, put the old ones back in and then wait till I fix the VC gasket?

Thanks!

It's probably the VC gasket, just have your brother help if you're not confident

You don't have to redo the plugs if you're going planning on doing the repair soon.

Just did mine given that I recently had the same problem. You might want to consider getting a whole new valve cover, in case your issue is not the gasket, but a cracked valve cover instead.

I ended up running a very light bead of Hondabond around the entire head/gasket mating surface. All is now well!

While in there I also cleaned the valves and changed the OFHG. If you have the time, might want to consider those projects as well.

I spilled oil doing my last oil change and was surprised how much made in under the cover to the valve cover. That is what it looks like on yours.
