Do not have the dealer detail your car or you will end up like this dude!

Thanks guys for the heads up. I'll see if they can reimburse me if i use one the pros mentioned. They also need to fix my curbed rim. It's just so frustrating to have to deal with this in the first place.

I've had repeated bad luck with Herb Chambers service. I'm getting tired of bringing the car in for the same things over and over.

When they give the car back saying "we couldn't reproduce the problem" It's like saying "you're full of shit, nothing's wrong."

I'll be switching to Gallery in Norwood soon to try them out.

Herb Chambers SUCKS, period!

HC of Toyota in Allston:

Back in 2004, they damaged my Toyota MR2 by lifting my car at a non-lift point. Bent my rear quarter panel slightly and never said anything about it. I found out a week later and tried to get them to fix it, but they basically said they didn't do it. At that point, they were the ONLY one who lifted my car.

HC of BMW - Foriegn Motor West:
Damaged my E90 front bumper and didn't say anthing about it. But this time I caught it in time and they fixed it.

HC of BMW in Allston:
I was picking up a part from the service dept and had to park my car along the little driveway that they had. The entire driveway was parked with cars. Then this sales person ran out and started screaming and swearing at me telling me to move my f-ing car because it is a fire lane. There were no signs anywhere that says I can't park there. There was a fire lane box painted on the ground, but it was on the other side of the driveway and it was so worn out that you can barely notice that anything was painted there. OK, let's just say it was my fault. But that was no way to treat a freaking customer or anybody for that matter. He could have simply ask me to move and didn't have to swear.

p.s. - the guy at the parts dept was really cool though.

I will NEVER let HC make another dime from me.

Wow... I did not know how bad HC was, although I have bought two cars from them, '06 330XI and '02 X5, they have never treated me bad, well the only bad experinece was with the inspection of my '02 X5.........took them about a week to do it....they kept sayin they were extremely busy. I had also bught '97 318i & '99 M3 from Peabody, I do agree the service and care @ Peabody is much better, I only dealt w/ Rob at Peabody allways took care of me.........Now since I deal w/ HC my brother works there as a Tech. so I allways get 110% service satisfaction...

The water will bead when you have wax on a car but won’t necessarily bead OFF. I wouldn’t let them touch your car again if they say black can’t be kept clean, without swirl marks.

Sounds like a disaster, ugh.

If they're incapable of doing a quality detail job (which is probably the case), maybe you should tell them that you'll be taking it to a professional and sending them the bill. Kev mentioned a few of the good detailers in this area on the first page of this thread.

Yep. They bought Flagship MBenz too. 3 out of 4 MBenz dealerships are now owned by HC. My friend works for MB of Westwood and they hate HC with a passion.

How the hell do you lose a customer's tire and then be out for half the week?

Sounds like you need to talk to the Service Manager, and tell said manager that you'll be calling BMWNA.

i had a great experience with HC Sales.. my CA was Joe Conway.. and if you take the time to talk to the guy you can tell he has a different mentality than the other CAs.. i did get the same vibe from other CAs that people are mentioning here.. they ignore you (especially if you are young) and tend to be in there own little worlds.. i went into the entire process quite knowledgeable (thanks to this forum) and was able to hustle a great deal but i can see why most innocent buyers would get taken advantage of.. they are quite cut throat over there

as far a service is concerned.. i had issues with my fuel pump.. they were able to order a brand new fuel pump controller and get it installed within a week.. all covered under warranty.. they also fixed a scratch on my front bumper from when i took delivery of the car at no cost BUT in the process did not repaint my front bumper properly.. there seems to be small fragments of dirt caked into the paint.. so i need to schedule an appointment to have it redone.. but aside from that i've had good experiences

it is luck of the draw at times and sometimes its not.. some dealers are just consistently bad.. Tulley BMW STILL HAS MY $1,000 DEPOSIT FROM MY 335i.. they won't return the deposit until they sell the car.. bastards

Have you contacted BBB and your state attorney's office? I don't know if the guys at BPG knows anyone at sales that would be able to help you with the situation.

I hope they polished out the swirl marks and not just covered them up. That happened to me at BMW of Peabody.

Ugh yeah HC sucks fiercely, bought the 330 at BMW gallery but i live closer to HC and decided to take it in for the 60k service. The people were rude and mostly clueless and i am never going back with my car or the wife's X3...

Oh really, I didn't know they can do that. Well i hope it wasn't the case for me. I think this time they got a pro and not some amateur.

Did you go to the cars & coffee the past week?
