Seifufu, the parts numbers for the E92/E93 MSport body kit have been known for some time now. There was even a link to them posted in this thread. They were originally provided by a vendor here on E90Post (forgot the name). That vendor was the exclusive US source for the kit at one time. Might still be in fact - at least for the entire kit (including the fogs and everything).

That thread doesnt have a part number my guess is you have to buy the complete kit correct? If so whats the part number for the complete kit since I doubt there is a part number for just the rear bumper?

Question for lucky M sport owners with 18" wheels
What tires came with your car? I know about the Bridgestones, but I heard that there is a Michelin RFT tire that also comes with Euro cars, but not in the states. I have never had good experience with Bridgestone tires, and was going to switch to Conti's if I stayed with RFT, but am very curious about this Michelin option. Thanks

the short answer is no one knows for sure... heard conflicting posts in this forum... from very soon (next month/next few months, to next model year, to 2 model years from now, to never)
the official line from BMW (Canada) is indefinite (read: we can't commit to a release date); see the letter that i posted a few pages back.... i've been searching long and hard for the m package availability date the last 5 or 6 months... but so far that's what i know.. |

The M-sport is not in the US because it is a marketing decision between BMW AG and BMW NA. This leads me to believe it will be released in the US mid-model life, similiar to how the ZHP was on the E46 330i. Hinting to this idea when speaking to Germany got recognition, but no definitive reply. However, you CAN get it factory-installed on a US E9x. Basically, it involves doing a Euro Delivery on your US-spec car. Then you make an appointment with the M Division across Munich, pick up your car at the plant, drive it over to them, and leave it for about a full 24 hours. Also, bring a check for about $11,000 USD. OUCH! Silly pricey, but it *CAN* indeed be done with full factory warranty and installed. You can get all the parts and do the whole kit cheaper here, but not factory installed, nor covered by the BMW warranty. |

As far as I know, it is still absolutely forbidden to modify your car after pickup from ED. The reason is that your car must match the description that BMW gives to customs. If it does not, then they could refuse to ship your car, and you might possibly get in trouble for it as well. If it were possible to do this, then surely something like adding style 230 wheels would be also, and no one doing ED that I have ever seen has done something even this basic. If you are indeed correct then I encourage you to share this news on the ED and delivery forums because you will be the first person to present this information to my knowledge. |
