Count me in if there is some form of group buy on this...

I think a lot of people on here do not understand the concept of aesthetic modding...

You want a car that's fully functional and based solely on performance, drive this then:

After much thought I might suggest Contact paper instead. It is easy to apply, cheap and comes in a wide range of designs (faux wood roof anyone?).

I my book, especially once you're in BMW territory and off the Japanese import scene, always FUNCTION OVER FORM.

I'm lucky enough to be in both 'scenes'...

There's a difference when form has an effect on function. In this case, it doesn't. Strictly aesthetic...

Then again, I look in this particular Cosmetic section of the forum for just that; Aesthetics. For one who believes in FUNCTION OVER FORM, your interest in this specific thread entails what purpose? To solely voice an opinion? If so, then your opinion has been heard and it's yet to change my reasoning...

I'm not against aesthetic mods. I didn't buy the aero kit because I'm going to be reaping the benefits of it over 120mph at the track. It's just that constantly recurring fuzzy line between tasteful aesthetics and rice.

My first question in this thread was genuine. I honestly couldn't figure out why people would want a black roof on an car painted some other color. I don't understand why that makes it "sporty." I understand why a lower stance makes a car look sporty, or a spoiler, or a bunch of other things. But a black vinyl roof. That's it.

$0.02.

$0.02.

tricks the eyes. More contrast.

For the guys that are DIYer, just buy some 48"wide black vinyl on ebay and do it urself. Cheap, and you can trash it if you don't like it. The kit this brad dude going to sell is probably pretty expensive considering its just same vinly but precut. You still have to install it urself if you are not local. I Just orders some vinly on ebay to test it out. I bought a little extra. So if anyone wants to test it out themselfs, $10+shipping and i will give them enough to cover their roof.

you guys should really think about adding another layer of clear coat on top of the vinyl for a more glossy look. No matter how glossy the vinyl is, it won't shine like the clear on the car. IMO

i would love to have my roof blacked out :]
i had Bat's overlays for my G35, very good quality
it was a pain to put them on but you can always ask your local tint shop to do it for you.

Hi guys,

I met up with Leon today. Thanks for making the drive down to San Diego. I made several templates while he was down. Roof Overlay, Several taillight overlays, headlight and sidemarker Overlays. He should be getting the stuff installed within two weeks .

For the taillights, I have full smoke, redouts or smoke for the turns, just about any combo. With Leons car and theme, we'll be going with redouts for the turn signals. OIf any of you wanna try the others, shoot me an amil.

Awesome to see you coming out with stuff for the E92 platform. I've been following your vinyls since back in the G35/350z days and your vinyls have always been top notch.
