Faulty brake pad sensors are common. Any Check control codes on the dash when you hold down the BC button?

Had it once before.
There are hacks to avoid that but right way is
1- check the codes as mentioned above.
2- in my case independent garage had to cut the end of the sensor, earth the two wires, reset cbs counter and then fit new genuine sensor. It showed only 12k life on cbs but cure the issue.
It started working correctly once brakes were worn and had less than 12k lifetime left.

Hope it helps.

Do you do that when it shows the front and rear brake icon. Would it say if i got a reader that plugs into diagnostic port?

I had this come up yesterday, about 100 miles after the service indicator told me I was due a service. Seems as though the handbrake still works fine as it should (although it could probably do with tightening).

Interested to see if you find a solution!

You have to long press bc on that screen for 3-4 second and it will give you code such as cc-id xx

That error is there you computer is not getting correct readings for pads life and hence telling you to go to local dealer.
