M3 cluster in 335D

Hi people, was wondering if anybody has done this yet, I'm thinking of looking into it as I wouldn't mind a challenge, obviously the Rev counter will only go to 5k but other than that I see no reason why it won't work?

I rewired my Scooby dash to accept the latest model sweeping dial so it's not the unknown for me

Garage List
Send a PM to M5rius, he's converted a non-M cluster to look like an M.

You cannot fit an OEM M3 cluster into 335D without changing EPROM chip, writing your car's vin and mileage + coding. If you have removed EPROM chips in the past and wrote the stuff onto that, then yes you can do it.
or Pay approx 500 euros to guys living in eastern european countries and they will make it PNP.

However, you can make your own speedometer to 'M3 replica' or copy of M3 as mentioned above. If you go down that route, nothing is better than using genuine M3 needles.

Good luck Dan.

Thanks for that, the main reason I want genuine M3 cluster is mainly the oil temp gauge I f***ing hate that swingometer MPG shite, what a waste of cluster space!

Might have to go down the route of as you say DIY my own (M3 Style) cluster!

It's no problem. If you find a speedo with less mileage than your own vehicle you can change the VIN in eeprom without touching a soldering iron by using a test clip and R270 programmer. Total expense would be £50 + whatever you pay for the used speedo.

If the KOMBI has a higher mileage you'll need to desolder chip and reset it. This is important as the CAS module will always take the highest mileage present.
