Really basic E92 LCI Q's

Sorry, really basic stuff, but I'm not sure of the answer...

If, and I repeat 'if', I was looking at an LCI E92 330d, what dates am I looking out for to get the a) new 330d engine and b) new hard disc Sat Nav.

I know the new 330d engine was stuck into the E90 when then bonnet creace was introduced so easily identifiable but I'm not sure about the E92.

Was the Sat Nav updated at the same time or later???

Any help on dates appreciated.

From production week 36 (Sept 5th), 2011, Navigation system – BMW Professional
Multimedia (609) was deleted and Professional Multimedia Navigation including USB
audio interface and Voice Control was introduced.

I'm not sure about the production dates for the engine change, but will look into it.

Cheers Anneka, but are you sure, that seems awfully late. I mean when it changed from the shite old system to the new funky hard-disc one with the big screen (does that explanation help ).

I'm thinking when it changed from Navigation Professional to, I guess, Multimedia Navigation.

Did the change you mention simply expand the newer system to include USB, etc??

Maybe you're right (quite possibly) but can't believe it was only 7 months ago???

Still interested in the engine change if you're able to find out - are they any obvious visible differences on the actual car to easily highlight the new model?? Think the rear lights are different. Obviously on AUC the mpg/co2 will be different but not so clear on AT/P'heads.

Sorry, I'm being thick. The larger screen has been with the LCI since it came out, in fact it was introduced late 2009 and some late pre-LCI car's have it.

Hope the info I gave is useful to you anyway.

Actually, I was just being lazy, the AUC has just revealed that the new engine was put in at September 08 cars (so 58 plate).

Any accurate date on the navigation system change - even brand new cars are just using the name 'Navigation System-Professional' like the previous version.

LOL, yes, knew my speedy 'to the point' phrasing might annoy some . Don't worry I've had that system in 3 previous Beemers so speak with confidence when I say it's shite .

Soooooo wish I didn't detest auto's, there are 75 E92 330d's on AUC, but only 2 manuals (with shite spec) .

Anneka, if you want to keep your peepers out for a nice manual E92 330d M Sport, preferably with new engine and sat nav (plus of course a bunch of other lovely spec ), then I'm all ears .

And I speak with confidence and say that the HDD Pro Nav is shite too!!

Edit: And the audio system isn't that much better either

So, the same time as the engine change, that opens up the market a little then.

Thanks.

Like mine... 2009 with new Nav, but pre LCI shape. Better mirrors too!

So, the moral is, if you want pre-LCI, new Sat Nav, live in Leeds. Easy .

This is the exact reason I bought a brand new one. You can have what you want. But it costs you.......
