The car feels much better built than the 2008 335xi that i had. The M wheel is thicker and a tad heavier than the previous sport wheel so haven't gotten used to the turning yet. Going over bumps is more forgiving even though these are 19" vs the 18" on my 08. Its a much more comfortable ride and the handling feels very confident, as if it knows what to expect before I do.

That said.......the n55 even with the extra power and torque, I haven't felt yet. It doesn't feel as raw and the surge that the n54 gave me but that could be because I'm still babying it and not gunning it. I have started at 1st and moderately gunned it to 4500rpm max) I suspect if you floor it, the extra torque will automatically kick in for a brief time and that's where I would feel the extra kick.

Having driven a new manual 335is vert as well (which has a n54 engine I believe), I know that it still doesn't feel as raw as the 08 335xi. I can't put my finger on it, its just a feeling. Maybe I could just be missing the car, I don't know, lol.

My only gripe so far is that the exhaust note is a tad louder than i expected. It sounds awesome from the outside, but when city driving in normal conditions, it sounds like I'm on a plane sitting next to the engine.......its a low bass sound that seems to fill the cabin.

Again, I've only put 20-30kms on it cause I got it late last night and its mainly driving in the suburbs, still haven't decided if I want to clear bra it so i don't want to take it on the highway yet.

PS: There's no 'individual' or any badging that makes it stand out as a special edition. Only way to tell from the outside is the paint colour and M aero bumpers and that its not an M3. Interestingly, I saw a white 335is vert in the delivery area and it also had fogs.
Only 3 more days until my First BMW. Drooling....

THANKS MAN!!! Waiting for the pics! Do you think a rear spoiler like the M3 would look good?

I am a bit afraid of the exhaust noise also...

How is the audio quality?

Audio quality as in the BMW individual sound system? I like the bluetooth (without connecting via usb) connection to the iphone and can play from it, but it doesn't show a lot of details. The dealer was being dumb and couldn't figure out how to use the BMW Apps and integrate my iphone. My research shows that it needs the Y cable to work and should have been included with the car but it wasn't. Trying to get the dealer to admit it and give me that part. Else, using the normal apple cable, my iphone 3gs and ipod didn't work except charging.

I think the deck lid spoiler would be good but it wouldn't be very noticable cause the car is pretty black. I could be wrong, would have to see a JB m3 sedan to guage.

Doesn't the Apps require you to actually snap the iphone into a holder in the armrest? You should have a Y cable.....

I don't believe you need the Y Cable. My sales rep who is very good confirmed this with my car...

so I wonder now what's accurate????

Well, I don't know. It only has a spot in the arm rest for that dock connector which doesn't include a dock which is consistent with what other posts say. I brought the apple usb cable along with me and tried the usb in the arm rest and it wouldn't connect to the facebook stuff or the web radio or messages via my iphone.

When the phone is connected via bluetooth, it'll play the music on my iphone but it doesn't have track information. My ipod didn't play at all, just charged when connected via usb. And as usual, the BMW website is misleading.....
http://www.bmw.ca/ca/en/owners/navig...usb_audio.html

The ipod atleast played with the normal apple cable via usb in my 08 so something must have changed in MY2009.

There's a second usb port in the glove box to download music to the onboard hard drive but have not tried it out yet. Still stuck at work =p

Believe me, the dealer had everyone looking at it, the sales guy, the new car delivery specialist, the business manager and even the GSM cause they had to confirm the car even had BMW Apps.........

The Y cable is only to access music from your iPod or iPhone. You should have a dock in your armrest. To get the facebook etc you'll need the dock and the BMW Connected App on your iphone.

Curiously, is yours an auto?

I have to agree with exhaust noise. I test drove one the other day. The first thing I noticed was the drone while driving 'civilized'. At low rpm's this car is annoyingly louder than my '08 335i. With spirited driving, it sounds great.
I love the look of the 19's, they also increase road noise. Lack of the DCT and now there are 3 reasons that has me reconsidering buying my 3rd E90 (06, 08,....).
Performance wise, it is surprisingly similar to my Dinan stg 2 (which on the highway is an absolute rocket).

Such a tough decision with the F30 coming out next summer.

Yes, its an auto. I'm lazy =p

The armrest has a connector to insert the dock, but the car didn't come with a dock.

Figured something else today, the iphone can't be connected via bluetooth and usb at the same time. Still couldn't get the BMW apps to work. Will have to spend more time with the manual and getting the homelink to work too.....

Do you have BMW Connected installed on your phone?

Thanks that was really good...so all and all does the car sit higher then your 08 335? I dont mind the height because i think its pretty awesome how BMW has catered to Canadian driving conditions. The height is well suited for a all wheel drive canadian sedan..but for summer time it looks a bit funny (based on pictures)

You have to buy the separate media dock and have the phone inserted in it for those APP functions and the APP software must be on your phone

Separate Media Dock?

What's that?

Okay I pick up my 335i SE in two days and I own a Iphone 3Gs.

I assume for Blue Tooth/Hands Free I'll be okay.

For anything/everything else I may be okay as well?

I'm confused like everyone else.

Should I bug my sales guy to throw in free cables or dock or something?

Okay so I found the "DOCK " on the BMW Site It's a "cradle" that also allows connectivity.

Umm..STUPID? How is that any different then connecting the Iphone with your Apple Supplied White Cable?

BOth would carry the same data??

If you see my last post, you don't have to use the dock, he is using a regular cable.

Yes, I don't see the connected drive option in the idrive menu. They are going to check the software on the idrive when i bring it in next week. The dealer needs a head slap if they loaded the wrong software in and forgot to put the stage 2 map or something.
