To Mod or not to Mod.
I am thinking of doing some mods to My 2010 335 X drive, but this is a car I want to keep for many years. I love to drive this can and think I would love it more with more power I want to add a Cobb, CAI, and maybe a upgraded exhaust. Will these Mods limit the number of miles or years I could expect to drive this car I don't drive it every day and only put about 9K miles per year. Thanks for any input.

Any mod that increases the performance of your car will put some added stress on wear and tear parts. That's the nature of the game
That said, as long as you keep on top of maintenance and fix any minor issues before they turn into major ones your car will be around for a while. That's true for any car -- modded or not You just have to be a bit more diligent with preventive maintenance.

Thats good to know, that would be my next question with these up grades would it be like a different car. Just don't want to cut the life expectancy of car down with these up grades as I plan to keep this car for may years to come, maybe give it to my son for his frist car in 10 years.

the good thing is that you have options with this car. conservative ones, and not so conservative ones.

would you give a 15 year old a modded 335i now? (yes I know there are quite a few kids who get these as their first cars, but regardless...) The car won't have any different specs in 10 years than does now... still gonna be fast and powerful regardless of the other cars at the time. Just look at that viral video of the kid with the E46 M3 who almost killed himself in Arizona driving like a maniac...

New Honda Accords and Nissan Altimas are faster then 90's Mustangs and Camaros. Hell, new minivans are almost as fast as muscle cars back then. In 10 years, who knows? Maybe the 335 will be considered slow...
