Probably the most common coilover on here.

Search and you'll get a ton of reviews.

No problem.

Living in SoCal, I'd save money and go with the ST's.

I have KW V1's on my E46 right now. I'm virtually building my 335i hahaha.
Personally I like ride comfort with a nice drop which is what I'd be looking for in the 335 as well. Maybe stay with KW or something else with the newer model?

I'm actually picking up some KW V1's this weekend.

But, I'm new to the BMW community so there's better opinions out there. I do know that KW is the most popular on this forum though. By far.

That's what led me to get mine also. I'm happy with them just not sure if it's the same feel on the 335's. I have time though lol

Hi Guys,
Does anybody know wheter there's any diffecernce between US and EU springs? I've got a US 328i in europe so I wonder if I can buy springs for 325i or 330i here. (328i doesn't exist here so there are no options)

Anyone got a review of Koni Yellow/Sports and Eibach Pro-Kit Springs? Sounds like people say it will be good for DD that doesn't get tracked but you want more performance, but I'm not finding a specific review for it.

Thanks!

Found a few: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...+yellow+eibach

I have driven a couple cars with that combo and many more with Koni Yellows and have always been impressed. Eibach makes great springs, I had their Pro Kit springs on my E90 and found them to be perfect for a daily driven car. The ride was always supremely comfortable yet it would settle in nicely during hard cornering, the Eibach springs are progressive and the first bit of travel is very softly sprung so there is a little softness just off center; when you first turn the wheel, the car will roll a little until you get to the stiffer part of the spring which is actually very good for driving in the real world. All of the fun roads around where I live are very bumpy and the Eibach springs were an absolute joy over those roads. Stiffer springs that make the car feel much better on a smooth road would have been useless on roads like those.

In the long time since I made that post, I ended up going with KW V1s (actually ST coilovers, but they are the same thing) on my E82 and I like them even better than the Eibach setup I had before, they are definitely stiffer so the car is a bit more responsive but it is also a little less supple over really rough roads.

I do agree with the assessment that Koni Yellows are about as good as it gets for a sporty daily driver, but this is all based on personal preference.

I also want to mention that ride height has a huge impact on the performance of coilovers, the shop that installed mine initially set them really low and I hated it; I was constantly running into my bump stops during cornering and that would send the car bouncing all over the place. I raised it up a half inch and it completely transformed the car, I completely love my STs at my current ride height which is still .5 - 1 inch lower than stock.

Just Hartge !!!

I have a Hartge suspension installed on my BMW 335i, a year now and I must admit that this setup feels like it was made for me.
Hartge uses Bilstein Gas Springs but when I tried to find their specs in their catalog the search returned no results.
Could it be the springs being made only for Hartge as it is rumored ?
The codes are : F4-VE3-C040-H1 front, and F4-BE5-C042-H1 rear.

So after reading up a little, I'm definitely gonna go with Koni Yellows as my shocks. Still haven't make up my mind with springs yet...I'm either gonna go with Eibach pro's or H&R sports. I want my car lower, but not to the point where it's inconvenient. I think I'm leaning towards the combo of Koni's w/ Eibachs.

no comparison imo

even the ast 4100 is superior, as is the TCK / HPA koni S/A setup as long as you pick proper spring rates for your application.

for street driving, the Ohlins R&T is the best of the bunch due to the quality of their dampers.

Ha pretty good. after i posted that did a lot more research before i pulled the trigger on anything. completely eliminated the v3 or clubsport options from kw because lack in performance compared to AST and Ohlins. was going for AST 5100 then changed my mind to Ohlins r&t because i'm going to get a track only car at some point very soon.

I want to drop my car but have ZERO knowledge on how to go about it. I read all these posts but still an't figure it out. I don't want to alter the ride quality but i want to lower it a little bit for more of an agreessive stance. Just don't know what to get? Springs? Coilovers? someone help! Just want a simple drop with no ride quality sacrafice.

Get a Bilstein B12 kit, your car will ride better, handle better and sit lower.
