Options for 330xi Rear Tires?
Hey All-
I sincerely apologize if this is a repost-- I have a sport pkg 330xi with 225/45R-17 run-flat all-season tires that I've driven about 700 miles on. If I want to retain all-seasons, what's the widest tire I can use for the rears without changing rims? What performance impact would this have and do you have any idea what replacing the rears with wider 17" RFTs would cost? Thanks so much! |

If you still want an all season tire, I would not suggest going wider. I'm assuming you would still want to use the all-seasons for incliment (sp) weather. Therefore wider is not better. If you want wider tires in the rear just get another set of wheels for a staggered set-up.
I may have not totaly answered you question, but just trying to give guidance.

Just out of curiosity - why is wider worse for all-seasons? I guess it's better that way - although the 8s look terrible from the rear, it'll save me from having to buy all new rims.
Thanks! |

Wider tires float on the snow rather than dig in and bite. This is especially true when changing direction (turning).
