Roll call for transmission fluid change

Just wanted to see who's changed the ATF out of their ZF Auto so far:

Let us know the following:

1. Fluid used.
2. P&L cost (if applicable)
3. Any differences post change?

With the exception of TurkeyBaster and Chriztopher, I have seen a whole lot of people talk about changing it, but no follow through.

Also, specify if you're doing a pan drop and filter change OR filter change, drain and fill, cycle through gears, then drain and fill.

Had mine done at the dealer for about $1100. Pan drop, including new pan/filter. After they only replaced 2 liters of fluid I'll never do it at the dealer again. No differences post-change, which I assume is a good thing.

Also had the fluid analyzed and it looked fine. I posted my report to this forum if you're curious.

$1100 seems excessively high but, c'est la vie.

yeah i do have a DCT and track it alot .. thats why i did a flush.. fluid was good when it came out honestly.. that was about 7 track events... and 1 day at the drags..

I've done mine at 55.7K. This included: transmission sealing sleeve, drain plug (both are overlooked replacement components), 7 quarts of ZF fluid (which is 6.6 liters), and new pan & filter.

My mechanic charged me $90 for labor and 455.90 for parts.

Sounds of Speed Performance in Santa Clara. Ask for Mitch or John.

I flushed out and dropped the pan bc my pan was leaking (gasket; common problem).

Used about 10quarts and got a new gasket. All from BMW using a buddies employee discount and DIY.

Cost me about $250 in total.

Gear shifting felt a tad smoother but wasnt too noticeable.
