will touch-up paint prevent rust? or is that even something you need to worry about. I washed my car today and found my first rock chip

Did some touch-ups today. The black paint is more liquid than the silver one I had with my previous car (It was thicker). I'll get the car in the dealership for a spa when they will install my summer tires and just ask them to buff around the touch-ups. They don't stand out really, the trick is to go easy on the paint and not put too much in. A toothpick can be a good tool for that (Do not attempt anything with the big brush inside the paint bottle's cap).

I don't really like the look of clear bras -- or bras at all. the car looks too good to be wearing stuff that hides or dulls its lines.

rock chips happen. I've accepted it

Lets see in less than 3 months of ownership (brilliant black exterior paint):

1) A bird pooped on my car and 4 hours in the hot FL sun left a mark

2) Scratch on the lower part of the right side passenger door, down to the gray sheet metal

3) Another scratch on the left passenger door, this one on the upper belt line, but it is should be able to get polished (I hope)

4) Various rock chips on my front hood

5) 2 little scratches on each headlight cover (1 scratch each)

6) Sprinklers left watermarks on the left-hand side of the car and part of the roof, thanks partially to the sun for baking them in

And oh, yes: the easily replaceable $70 front gray filler plate: perfect.

You know what color my next car is going to be? GRAY!

Jon.

they are fine...but you know when u just finish washing you car and you over look everything under lights? and you then see imperfections in the hood i.e rock chips....that kind of bugs me.
