Silicone hose reduser dimension for Synapse chargepipe

Hi all,

after replacing my HPFP the mechanic needed to remove the silicone reduser hose from the throttle body and the chargepipe.

After that, the chargepipe always pops off after hitting WOT with map 1 or 2. Fortunately, Procede integrates N/A mode (map 3) so I could make it back home.

First time I tightened up everything again but the silicone reducer hose popped off from the throttle body. After removing it I noticed that the inner layer of the hose was torn away and there was no rubber left but the next layer made of fabric (rope like mesh). I also snapped the tightening clamp but I got a new heavy duty one.

So, what is the size of the reducer? 3.5" to 2.5"? And what is the length?

I'm looking for the first silicone reducer shown at the next pic.

Thanks

I'm sure somebody will respond, but can't you contact whomever you bought the chargepipe from and have them send you a new one?

I bought the chargepipe with th BOV 2.5 years ago from e-bay. I don't remember the seller and it has been a while after purchasing it.

It is not expensive, it costs less than 30 USD with shipping. But I don't want to wait for 2 shipping time and realize that it will not feet.

It looks like that C-clip is the best for mounting a chargepipe.

I hope someone will respond.

I'm working on a modified ****** pipe - I'm using a 3.25" coupler for the throttle body - the other end would differ depending on the pipe

I don't follow - it sounds like you have the hose, so why can't you measure it?

I'm 90% sure that the other end is 2.5". So, we have 3.25" for the throttle body.

It was quite difficult installing the new clamp on the silicon hose because it was slipping off all the time. This clamp is not heavy duty but a simple clamp but tomorrow I'll buy a few just in case, they are cheap.

So, I will not measure the hose until it pops off again. I just asked in case someone knew for sure and save some time uninstalling the hose again. Plus it something that could be added to that forum tech library (throttle body diameter)

Use a little silicone the next time that happens. I was having the same problem, with it slipping off and that fixed the problem permanently!

Silicon? Like silicon gasket maker?

I bought a new clamp today so next time it pops off I'll tighten it to death.

Yes, worked like a charm. I never had an issue again. Just use a little bit, it'll have a death grip after that.

did you mean use a smaller size in diameter for the silicone hose? but how much smaller? will it make it harder to slip on the manifold end

i was having the same problem, then, i got some t-bot clamp. It stays on much longer, but still start falling off after a while.
