Thanks and yeah, they are charging me a lot but I didn't expect anything less from a BMW shop. They are blending with the fenders and everything so I know it will be perfectly done.

eh... preference i suppose, i wouldn't pay anyone over half that ($750) to do it... if they're a paint shop, they're supposed to be good at what they do already (they must be certified, right?), shouldn't have to pay more to expect an excellent job.

Cool hood, btw ^__^

they are charging you 1500 and they are blending it with the fenders?

wow, i wouldn't pay more than 400 if they will be blending it.

the shop i took my car for my bumper paint had a machine that took a picture of my hood, they imported the picture in their paint machine and made the paint to match exactly. they only needed the bumper and guaranteed 100% match. the other shops i went to wanted the car so they can blend it

after that shop experience, i've come to the conclusion that GOOD shops don't need to do any blending

Thanks and yeah, I see your point. And believe it or not, the $1500 is after a discount

Must've been a pretty high-tech shop. I've never heard of that before.

It really depends on the color though. Black or white usually don't need any blending. Red is difficult to get a perfect match, blending would be a safer approach.

But either way, you're getting raped for $1500. And no lube.

WOW $1500.... Better make sure that is both sides of the hood. At that rate they are bending you over so hard, I wouldnt be surprised if they paint the outside only!!!

The quote for paint does seem quite high. You may want to get a second opinion on that. All in all, the E90 Vented hood looks great on the car and I want to thank you again for your order/support. Make sure to post up an update when everything is completed!!!

love the color on your car but i like oem m3 look hoods not the ones with the jdm vents. 1500 for paint? I think OP is kind of sad and edited his post so no one will make fun of him. Do what you got to do some people have money and some don't but even if i can throw cash like that it should come with a BJ at least
