OEM Battery needs to be replaced

I have a 2007 328xi (e90). Battery is slowly going out on me (can't have ignition turned off with radio on for more than 2 minutes until low battery warning comes up). Battery is 6 years old, so it's probably dying. I want to replace it with an OEM battery. It's the lead acid 90a, 720 cca battery. BMW Seattle is about $300 for battery not including taxes (not include install, which I will do myself), and BMW Bellevue wants over $300 for same.

My part number is 61216946334. New part number that replaces old one is 61217586962. I see in the general forum most people are getting these from their dealers around the country at about $180-200 (Tischer sells them for about $180 but won't ship), yet our local dealers want $300+!!!

I don't want to code for a new battery (but will register it myself), so I don't want to make this thread about coding/not coding/registering/not registering, but am looking to see if someone knows where I can get an OEM (or exact spec aftermarket) battery. I have checked far and wide over a ton of forums and most batteries from Autozone, NAPA, WalMart, etc. don't have the exact spec of OEM even though they list as compatible with our cars.

Any help? Thanks!

if you dont want to mess around with coding etc...(which i understand) I would just get it at the dealer and pay 300+ dlls. By the time you add the coding pls the price of the new battery replacement, you will be close to 300 mark.

I got a good deal on a OEM (same battery part number as you have above) at my local dealership for lead acid battery (Exide white in color) for $165.00 I installed it myself. No registration needed.

Contact Rolf's import if you are in the Fife/Tacoma area. I also have referral cards which can save you a few $ too.

I've done this over 1yr ago on my 535i, switched to AGM battery from conventional lead-acid. Bought the batt from batt-plus store, made by EastPenn (the same OEM used by BMW and Mercedes), installed then took it to Strictly BMW for $116 programming. I need to do so cause:
1) I switched to AGM (you only need step 2 if staying with the same batt chemistry)
2) reset the date so my charging profile back to gentle (as the batt gets older based on date in the computer the charging mechanism gets more agressive thats' why you want to reset everytime new batt is installed).

Strictly-BMW will charge extra $30 if you need them to install the new batt for ya.
Also dealer won't do programming on non-OE (exactly BMW batt).

I just broke down and went to BMW Seattle and got a new battery. Cost about $300. I couldn't find an exact replacement and didn't want to code, just wanted to register. I don't live in the Seattle area so it is hard for me to go over there and leave car to get installed and coded.

BTW, they said the battery has a new model # 61 21 2 353 810. Same specs, though. I haven't installed battery yet, but will do it in a few weeks.

Thanks to all for your help and replies!

I just went to pick up the exact same battery. They also said it replaces the old 61-21-7-586-962 battery I had.

Says it's an Exide Battery 80AH though.

These are the numbers I pulled from my white battery.

90 Ah 720A
160 RC 720CCA

61218381764
61218385398.

Did the dealer gave me the wrong battery?

edit:

I went to another dealership to make sure I didn't get the wrong battery. I told the parts guy what happened and he looked it up and says that's the correct battery. The old battery got superseded by this new battery. They said it will be fine and I do not need to code it, just register the battery.

I didn't check what amps new battery was, but my old one was same as yours. Battery seems to be working fine, so I hope they didn't give us wrong battery.
