Has Anyone Removed The Flapper?
Hey guys, I did the golf tee mod again but when I look at the flapper inside the muffler,it seems like it restricts flow a bit.The flapper opens side ways and looks like a bottle neck when compared to the other side .Has anyone removed the flapper out there muffler completely??Any downsides to it??I have a 1 series...

There is no downsides to removing completely..at least that I know of..
This is evident by the number of people who have aftermarket cat backs and none of those exhausts have the flapper built in...

Can the flapper be removed completely?
This may not be helpful, because it is only anecdotal evidence, but my flapper was rattling upon startup and the dealer had to replace the entire left muffler under warranty. I assumed they took this route because it was not possible to replace the flapper itself. Seems to me that if removal was possible, that would have been a much cheaper route for the dealer to take. Either way, good luck! |

It’s now very common to hear people say, “I’m rather offended by that”, as if that gives them certain rights. It’s no more than a whine. It has no meaning, it has no purpose, it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. “I’m offended by that.” Well, so fucking what?

Wtf is so offensive? I know that's off topic, but seriously.
This is a forum for helping not whining. |

Seriously.
I was just trolling. Now here your answer. A half inch isn't going to make a fucking difference in the world. Move on to another idea to gain 3 tenths of a horsepower |
