McLaren SLR lowered and on HRE P40

The P40 is a classic style that many try to replicate but only the real design can handle the power of the McLaren SLR. You might have seen these pictures already.

I love P40's a lot but something it doesn't look good on the SLR.

Isn't the P40 just a another copy of the BBS CH, it's difficult to call it an original HRE design.

Nice wheels, but I've never liked the proportions of the SLR. Front end looks wayyyyy too long, which doesn't even make sense, since the engine is jammed up under the firewall and behind the front wheels.

Are you both blind, for starters both have fourteen spokes in groups of two, to my eyes the HRE is a mildly different copy.

In case you were curious what in the world makes the hood that long, here's some pics. I have no idea what that extra bit in the front is, but maybe some enthusiasts can help me out. It's not the big ass supercharger that requires 120 horse power just to run the thing is it?

Sorry bout the quality of the pics, I only had my crappy iPhone 3GS at the time.

Yeah, I've seen under the hood, but the engine literally is completely behind the front wheels. It ends at that accordian tube. The supercharger is on top of the engine, the huge thing in the front is just the ginormous intake.

lol, that's quite a large intake...I guess thats why the engine hood is so long? To accommodate that intake.
