Also - you don't happen to have any relatives from Connecticut, do you? Because some of my cousins from there have the same last name as you. If you're there on Saturday, look for me in the Graphite 335i Coupe.

Only family I have up north (that I know of) is in the Rockford, Ill. area. I will look for you. I will be the one chasing an 18 month old around making sure he doesnt get figure prints on everyone's car

OK...wife will probably come with me, maybe even bring her 128i Convertible, but we should be there maybe around 9 or so.

BMW CCA Tejas Chapter covers Austin, SA, and Central TX/Hill Country all the way out to El Paso. The chapter website is http://www.tejaschapter.org. We have an event every month, including driving events, tech sessions, a track session, a charity event in December, and our annual awards banquet in January. I recently moved here from Round Rock and am trying to stir up some additional SA-area members. We also socialize and do runs that aren't part of the official club events, but those are mostly spur-of-the-moment things. You can look over the website and join up there or at http://www.bmwcca.org (national website).

We got there a little after 9:30...we'll go earlier next time. Lots of cars, including a Tesla Model S (all electric 5-series-sized sedan), some Lambos, Ferraris, and all manner of everything else. Way better than the C&C they hold in Leander (near Austin)!

We'll try to look you all up next time.

Good turnout. Outside of M3s, I only saw one other e9x, and one 135.

We left around then. Our son was all over the place so we decided to head to the parade of homes a little early. Next time we will probably drop him off at grandma's first

I used Vollmer's in San Antonio off San Pedro. They have a great rep and the prices are good. They did my VW GTI and my wife's Murano.

I believe it was about $400-500 to pull the bumper prep spray and replace. They did a pefect job though. They even matched my wife's candy metallic paint perfectly.

I am rarely completely satisfied with paint but body work and Vollmer's did it right the first time. I worked with Jim. great guy.

If it is just paint restoration and detailing you need..Concours Auto Salon. Awesome guys. I go there sometime just to see what they have in the shop (lambo, Aston, R8, Ferrari, etc) They do all of those high end cars but are just as happy to apply their trade to a VW or a Ford. They take pride in their work.

Which one - the local chapter or National? I agree our local chapter site definitely needs an update...but it may take awhile. Nonetheless, the club is open to new members, and it is a national organization. The club shouldn't be judged just by its website, though. We have 850 members in Tejas chapter.

I plan to join as soon as my car gets to San Antonio.. which hopefully is only about a week or so after I get there... I was just saying the site (Tejas Chapter) could use an LCI update... lol

I have to agree with you, as do quite a few others in this chapter - website needs a facelift, and I suspect it will get one this year. We'd have to PM to get into the details on that.

I'm sure you're anxious for your car to get here - what part of SA are you living in now? We have an event on the 10th at BMW of Austin (Tech Session), and then our annual Charity Event in December here in San Antonio. The annual awards dinner is in January. You're welcome to attend any of those events, although the drives won't be quite as much fun as our regular driving events.

Of course, from over here in Boerne, we take the back roads to get up to Austin. We could go across SA and pick up 130 at Seguin, but we'd have to go quite a ways east to do that. The more interesting roads around here are out to the west of SA both north and south of I-10.

Still in Germany right now. Leave Germany December 4th, stop off in Orlando for vacation, and I will be in SA December 28th. Car should get in January 15th at the latest, hopefully sooner.
