Yes, a very exciting time! One thing a lot of people aren't realizing is that casting has come a LONG ways recently. Cast parts from 10 years ago are not like cast parts today. That said, cast is still not as good as forged. I think this engine may surprise people and hold up to more than they expect. 4G63's and SR20's 20 years ago held up to over 100whp/cylinder with cast rods.

OP, you are as good as you're going to get for the time being.

It would be news to me if an N55 powered car has dyno'd over 400whp yet (that includes Dynojets).

N55 Turbo upgrade hope:

Very true. N54 pistons are 100% cast, though it is a very high quality cast. Believe the N55 crank is cast, but regardless that takes huge torque to break. The rods are where I’d be worried from an internal perspective, and we don’t really know how well the head flows. But I bet it’ll hold up just fine, 500 to the wheels shouldn’t be an issue at all. IMO once that is cleared all bets are off. The N54 has proven it can hold well over 600whp stock, so we’ll see how the 55 goes.

Logically the answer is yes. But I want to know the math.

Given an engine that produces 500ft/lbs of tq at 3000rpm vs an engine that produces 500ft/lbs of tq at 7000rpm, what is the additional stress on the rods, on the crank, and on the pistons? Anyone here know?

B4 you do any other mods get and FMIC (helix) is a top choice
Even before that replace the stock CP, I used BMS it was easy to replace, keeps the stock c clamp and fits like a glove, there isn't going to be much difference in performance based on CP brand, but FMIC should definitely be next. Unfortunately our turbos will max out around 390whp, but how fast of a car did you want? It's pretty fast with the tune itself.

wtf u talking about "max out at 390whp".....

whats mods will i have to do next?
my max budget for now will be $3500.

u can get 320-350whp for your N55.
Catless DP - tune - and full exhaust.
XI have cats on DP and on mid section of exhaust.
should be under 3500$ have fun.

btw - don't talk turbo upgrade for the N55 bc no one
has one for sale or fully work'n yet. -- it's still in development.

I love how ppl here talk like they are the king of the world, I know its a twin scroll single turbo. I often write turbos simply out of habit in talking to mostly N54 guys, that was the first engine I had experience with.

It just seems if you only wanted to comment to say that, you would have said that instead of "you have no idea what you're talking about". If you were here to help ppl, which is the purpose of the forum, then you could have corrected me as though I didn't know. Insulting and belittling does nothing positive except maybe make you feel like you can piss a little farther.

So stand on your pedestal and insult all the peasants. Feel better now?

I realize today that 90% of people on N55 forum dont know what they are talking about and when they have nothing else to say they point out someone accidently saying plural turbos

au contraire, It wasn't my intention to insult you; I merely believe that you don't know what you're talking about.

I think a lot of people on these forums are still confused with N55 and the N54

Thats because you only looked at the 's' on the end of turbo, when the post he is replying to is pointing out(and he is in agreement with) this is an N55 engine, not an N54 engine.

Doesn't take more than common sense to know he accidentally put an 's' on the end of turbo.

And take it easy grammar police, N54 folks get stuck in plural turbos language and forget to modify the phrase for N55 discussion. No need to freak out over semantics in otherwise valid posts
