335d breather valve replacement

Hi all was doing some research into the oil leak I have on the inlet manifold. i hear it can be caused by the breather valve being clogged. Does anyone have any similar experience with this. My car has the swirl flaps blanked off already and I don't want to take the manifold off unless absolutely necessary. How much is the valve and is it a DIY job or not? Thanks in advance guys.

It's called a crank case breather it's about £40.00

Massively overlooked service item. I change mine every 40k it should not break as there's no moving parts but it becomes weak and stops working as it should.

It was 1 of the first things I changed in my 335d when I bought it. did it when the glow plug control unit was done. A lot change the oil feed pipe that goes into it as well that can block and yours being a high miler I would personally.

Hope that helps. 👍

Thanks for the reply mate I'll look into getting the pipe done as well. I'll order the parts and take them to my specialist to fit I think. I've seen a DIY thread on changing the breather on here somewhere, but it looks a bit fiddly for me and my club hands lol

No worries mate, it is a diy job but I'm like u id rather get someone who will do it right first time to do it. It take me 3 times as long and knowing me I'd balls it up.

These cars love preventative maintenance, it's all part of the fun tho. i can't stop spending money on mine. Got some smoked rear lights coming next week, and getting a new remap Wednesday lol

I know what you mean mine is A1 cosmetically. Theres a few bits id like to do to the interior the centre console is showing its age etc. But gonna get it mechanically sorted first then I can concentrate on the mods lol. I'm a bit of a sucker as well for spending money on my cars. My last car was a mk5 Golf R32 and I spent an absolute fortune on mods for it, they were too expensive though to get more power easily which is why I swapped it for the 335. It's faster than the golf in stock form let alone with the remap lol.

The ex's brother bought a 325d 56plate Le Mans manual e90 3 years ago with 147k it was mint and well looked after, he has driven it like its stolen everyday were he lives every1 wants to race u. That's Coventry for u it's bad for it. apart from his Dsc breaking and a clutch and fly wheel he remapped it as well it's now on 208k and its running spot on still tight shows how good these cars can be.

The sound of a r32 is epic I hired 1 about 7 years ago loved it.

Got mine sounding pretty good for derv full custom exhaust makes a big difference to these. Probably the best mod I've done to the car 👍

Mine has the silencer delete sounds pretty good as you say for a diesel. Would love a full custom exhaust in the future. The r32s do sound amazing but they're all shout and no clout really. You had to rev the tits off it to get anywhere and I was averaging 24mpg lol, I get nearly double that now in the 335. Would love a custom exhaust in the future, one of the mods I have planned. Where did you get your exhaust done then mate? I've looked on various websites and can only find 335i exhausts.

Got mine done by torque flow in Birmingham. Imy is the man, he put 2 jet screamers in so it has a distinctive sound.

Paid 550 from mid silencer to tips, all restrictions gone and a bit of weight those back boxes must weigh 25/30 kg

Inbox me your number and al send u some pics I'm crap at uploading stuff on here.
