Sorry doing this on my mobile and it went wrong. As I was saying I got
My new e92 yesterday, my first questions is, I was driving along this morning and although I was in abit to high of a gear for the revs the car started to shudder and then a yellow/orange engine light flashed up on the dash, is this just telling me not to be lazy and drive properly?

Second question is, is there anyway to turn off the suggested gear on the computer?

And third, is there any "tricks" with the car? Like pressing the fob multi times gets different functions or something?

Thanks for the help in advance guys!

Oh dear, sounds like you've experienced the classic 320i misfire.....
Look in the technical section, plenty of info on this.

You can turn off the gear change thingy, just cycle through the mpg / range etc display until it's blank, then press and hold the same button in and it will disappear.

Just a misfire? Or is a regular problem with the engine? Just because you put "classic" seems as though it's happened to others?

Brilliant thanks mate, that the button on the end of the indicator stork? Sorry if it's a dumb question, only had a 1.2 vauxhall Corsa before this as I'm only 20, so still learning what everything does and not had 5 mind to read through the manual yet

Have you had a look at the " *** Calling All Members With Problems With The 320i ***" thread in the Technical Forum.... ?

Yes, the button on the end of the indicator stalk.

You're a lucky guy to have an E92 at 20, I had an 'X' reg. 1.1L Fiesta with a respray and cracked piston ring....

I have had my 57 plate 320i since December - I have just had to change the plug and coil on one of the cylinders - I had to pay for the plug but the coil was covered on the warranty.

Tricks - the only one I know of is if the windows are left down you can hold the lock button on the remote and it will put them up (keep the button pressed while they are going up).

Not sure if anyone else has any tricks?

if you press keyfob open button twice when unlocking the car, the window goes down half way to allow easier access into the car in a tight space

hold close door button down with both front windows (and sunroof open if you have one) and all windows/sunroof close full and car locks. same as when you want to unlock/open all windows/sunroof.
