You need O2 sims to trick the car into thinking that you still have catalytic converters in place...

You still need your oxygen sensors and thats why you get O2 bungs on all downpipes. The O2 simulator is needed to trick the ECU by making it read data from the sensors close to that you would read when the cats are there... it does not replace the sensors, you always need to sense the exhaust gases or your car will operate correctly...

SO yes you need both unless you want to see a service engine soon on your dashboard.

Correct me if I'm wrong but JB4 doesn't need an O2 Simulator. It comes with a built in Downpipe Fix, doesn't it?

Yeah, just check it and I guess it does.....vishnu prior to v5 harness update had an o2 modifier built into pins 19,20. The BMS has an additional feature, haven't quite figured out what that is.......whatever it is, it smoothed out my car after downpipe install.....I was the guy with oscillations......prob o2 sensor on the way out

You can use a spacer to pull the sensor slightly out of the exhaust stream, this will generally fix the CEL. You also want the bungs in the proper places so the sensors dont hang down and you wont need to tie them up. The bungs can also be used for live tuning.

Sorry for resurrecting this post.
So, is there any re-wiring needed to enable the DP fix for JB4s?
Or if you have JB4 installed just install the DP and you're done?

THanks

Just set auto code clear function on for JB4 or Procede and that is your DP fix. No wiring or other BS needed.

Only true if he doesn't need to pass an emissions check. I believe without the O2 sim he will never get the "O2 readiness" to pass.

Nowhere did the OP state anything about an emission test but you are indeed correct. Those that are concerned about emissions tests should re-installed the stockers to pass such tests.

Procede will pass emissions once O2 setting is adjusted to the point that no OBDII code is thrown. You will also have to undo the wiring harness mod if that was done.

Map 0 + no codes + readiness set + CanClear off = PASS
(That is for states that inspect by OBDII.)
