PE sound VS. G35/37

So I finally got around to purchasing a Performance Exhaust for my '06 330i (thanks Tischer!), and I am anxiously awaiting Thursday/Friday when I'm getting it installed

My question to those who have it installed:

How does the sound compare to that of a G35/37? The G-series has one of my favorite exhaust notes from any stock car out there...it's sporty and aggressive, and you can always tell what the car is even if you're looking away. I've pretty much seen every video of the PE on youtube and it sounds amazing, but videos can only give me an idea of what it will sound like in person. Is the PE deeper and more raspy sounding than the higher-pitched growl of the G-series?

Count down is 5 days till my exhaust gets here!

to me G35/37 sounds more artificial outside the cabin, PE sounds more raw which is better to me. some might find G35/37 sounds better at idle and take off though, PE dont have much sound at idle unless cold start...

Inside cabin, no question PE is better.

Yeah, from the videos I've seen the PE is fairly quiet at idle. Not a bad thing...I don't spend much time stationary with the car on. lol

My gas mileage has been crap for the past month since getting my PE installed. Really though, I have to lighten up on the foot and keep the steptronic out of sport mode and leave the paddles alone. I just can't kelp myself...

You are going to love your new exhaust.

This might not apply to you, but for the first time I have heard my exhaust (stock + downpipe) for the first time. My brother took it out for a bit, and it sounded Lovely...
2 hours later I saw the VQ35 G35 coupe drive by... sounded pretty nice as always, but instantly fell in love with my stock exhaust.

Definitely distinct, but I agree the G is very artificial sounding. Can't say that I'm a fan of it.

If you're in a parking garage it's as early as 2500 rpm

to be honest, my 328 sounded like a g35 when i blew out my secondary cats i personally love the PE sounds more though cuz it sounds beasty! the g series.... well not so much stock anyway. if you want loud performance sounds, the PE will definitely be perfect. it sounds almost as if a straight piped magnaflow muffler on a 328 sounds. definitely worth every cent!

It really is. You can read up all you want about how to please a woman, you can look at all the diagrams in the world, but just like the clitoris, you won't know what the hell an apex is before you actually find it.

PE sounds pretty sweet....but i personally like the VQ35/37 better in terms of sound..bit more aggressive. i pretty much came to a conclusion n52 will never sound like my g35 no matter what i do to it lol
