Question Service Action Bulletin - 08' E90 335i

OK,

I've searched for SAB (service action bulletin), but I only see SIB (service information bulletin).

Today I got a call from a lady with BMWNA letting me know she has contacted my local dealer and scheduled an appointment for a service action bulletin. When I asked her what it was related to she could only state that it was a recall on the 08 335i and the bulletin called for replacing a defective "tension rail".

Does anybody have a clue what that is? Has anybody else received this phone call from BMWNA?

hmmm, interesting. I went to my dealer the day i found out about the fuel pump recall last week and they didn't say anything about anything else.

I think the operator you spoke to was mashing up terms. The recent HPFP bulletins were "Service Actions", which are published in SIB's.

You could be right, however, I have not received a letter from BMWNA....they have called us several times....even my wife's company. I looked up tension and rail and found nothing. The only thing I think it could possibly be is the pre-tension system on the seat belt that is used if the car detects an accident is about to occur. She said it was a recall. I found this strange as the other issues with the car are known and published.

Perhaps they are trying to do this quietly. Any other thoughts?
