Anyone else want more 335 exhaust options?

Hi, so I've been scouring all the video and audio clips and I am still wanting more exhaust options. I am not sold on Miltek, Supersprint or any of the others I've read about. I know there are more to come, (i.e. Eisenmann) but I was hoping to make a thread of the other exhaust options that people are waiting on before they make a decision. Any thoughts?

I've had aftermarket exhausts installed on a few different cars and will only do so for the 335i when I'm convinced that it's better all-around. It must improve performance throughout the RPM range, must sound great, must look as good or better than stock, and must not have any annoying "features" such as resonance at any RPM. This may sound like a lot to ask, but my experience with these things hasn't always been positive, and I don't want to ruin the 335i. If Vishnu or someone else can meet or excede these requirements, they'll get my money.

I have yet to hear an exhaust for the 335 that I would even consider for my own car. They are all too quiet and don't have the tone that i'm looking for. I'm really hoping that eisenmann will come through with their system.

+1 None of the exhaust tips look very appealing either

The catbacks available are ridiculously overpriced. I understand there are two mufflers and two tips but it shouldn't be anything over $900 max.

I will mostlikely built a custom one.

Is there a sound/video clip out there for the Vishnu exhaust system?

BTW, I think custom might be the best route too. Just get some highflow cat/or delete them and chill with the throatier growl until something better comes along.

I'm sold on the Ulitmate Racing exhaust look and sound, but I'm waiting for the price to come down from $1500 for cat-back...I'm sorry, $50 worth of bent piping is not worth $1500.

I really appreciate you liking our exhaust system. The price for e90post.com members is $1395.00.

However, I don't understand how you think this is $50 worth of bent piping. This is not a crush bent exhaust that can be made at local muffler shops. With increasing stainless steel costs, it's tough to keep the price down. Our single exhaust systems for cars like Subarus cost around $600. These are designed for minimum bends, with the quickest exit. The majority of the piping is completely straight. Not to mention flanges, hangers, muffler, and tip. This is a very competitive price. The 335i exhaust just isn't the same. Essentially, it is TWO exhaust systems, with 10 times more bends (to keep both sections equal length), an X-Pipe, twice the clamps, and not to mention it being far longer than any exhaust we have in production.

Would we see much gains or sound enhancement by just replacing the secondary cats with test pipes? Who has a solution for this? Are the secondary cats welded in or could it be unbolted and replaced?

Thanks,
Baron

The entire catback exhaust system is one piece from the factory.

Plenty.

I have asked the mods to add our exhaust to the Aftermarket Exhaust Media thread a bunch of times already without so much as a reply back. Not really the nicest way to treat supporting/paying vendors if you ask me.

FYI, if you think the Ultimate Racing exhaust is quiet, you're mistaken--I have it on my car, and quiet is not a term that comes to mind. You cannot judge the sound of this exhaust based on UR's sound clips. Actually, I wish it were not quite as loud in the lower RPM range, but the tone is very good and the build quality surpasses any exhaust I've ever had or seen in person. It sounds absolutely mean and definitely turns heads on the street. I'm not trying to be a salesman, either.

Well, the PROcede adds about 60whp and up to 100 torque. Most exhausts add 10-20 whp. I suppose it depends upon if you want power or sound

Good luck!

I based my comments on comparable products from Stillen, dual exhaust for $1200 for the G35 Coupe.

$1500 is high, $1395 is better...
